# AI Room Design

## What it is

DecorAI AI Room Design lets you redesign an existing room from a photo. Try different furniture, colors, materials, decor, lighting, and interior styles while working from your original room image.

It helps you see how different room ideas could look before you make changes in the real space.

## How it works

1. Upload a room photo, paste an image URL, or continue from a previous creation.
2. Choose a room type and design style, or describe the design you want in your own words.
3. Choose how you want the existing furniture to be handled.
4. Set the AI Creativity Level and generate up to 4 variations.
5. Compare the results and continue editing if needed.

Each run takes about 30 seconds.

## Room types

DecorAI supports 135 spaces in total: 43 residential, 51 commercial, and 41 event spaces.

Residential spaces include living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, home offices, dining rooms, nurseries, laundry rooms, attics, basements, garages, walk-in closets, wine cellars, and more. Commercial spaces include offices, cafes, clinics, salons, hotel rooms, and other business spaces. Event spaces include wedding halls, conference rooms, trade show booths, and other event spaces.

Choosing a room type is optional. When you select one, you are telling DecorAI what you want the space to become. The same room can be redesigned as a bedroom, home office, home gym, or another type of space.

## Furniture controls

Choose how DecorAI handles the furniture already visible in your photo:

- **Keep My Furniture**: restyle the room around the pieces you own.
- **Replace Furniture**: replace existing pieces while keeping the room layout as a reference.
- **Empty the Room**: remove the furniture and start with an empty space.

**Lock Object** works alongside these options. DecorAI identifies objects in your photo, and you can choose which ones should stay unchanged while the rest of the room is redesigned.

You can also choose furniture from the available options or describe the furniture you want in a text prompt.

## Design styles

DecorAI supports 54 interior design styles, including Modern, Scandinavian, Japandi, Industrial, Minimalist, Mid-Century Modern, Art Deco, Coastal, Wabi-Sabi, and Dark Academia. Choose a style or describe the look you want in your own words.

AI Creativity Level has 5 settings:

- **Strict**: stays close to your instructions and existing design
- **Precise**: makes smaller changes and refinements
- **Balanced**: combines your instructions with AI design suggestions
- **Creative**: introduces more noticeable design changes
- **Imaginative**: explores bolder design ideas

## Editing tools

DecorAI also provides tools for making targeted changes without redesigning the entire room:

## Photo requirements

A normal phone photo works. A clear image with good lighting and a useful view of the room gives DecorAI a better view of the space.

Shooting from a corner can show more of the room, and about 0.5x zoom can help when a standard photo feels too tight. You do not need to remove everyday clutter before uploading. Moving loose items can simply give you a cleaner view of the room.

## Output

DecorAI generates photorealistic room redesigns from your uploaded image. Each run takes about 30 seconds, and you can create up to 4 variations per run.

DecorAI includes a 1-day trial with 3 designs. A payment card is required to start the trial. Paid plans start at $24 per month.

## Who it is for

DecorAI AI Room Design is useful for homeowners, renters, decorators, renovators, interior designers, real estate professionals, and home stagers who want to explore furniture, color, style, or room-use ideas before making physical changes.

## What DecorAI does not do

DecorAI creates visual design concepts from photos. It does not replace an architect, interior designer, contractor, or other professional responsible for construction, engineering, structural decisions, building codes, or project execution.

Generated images are visualizations, not measurements or construction plans. They do not guarantee that particular furniture, materials, or products will fit the real space. Check dimensions and product specifications before you buy or build.

Each generation is independent. Changes made in one generation are not automatically carried into the next generation.
